Michelle is recognized for her meticulous animal pastel artworks. With a long-standing fascination with the natural world, she was introduced to Albrecht Durer's "Young Hare" study at a young age, sparking her passion for drawing and painting wildlife. The portraiture of Rubens has also left a mark on her, particularly admiring how the eyes in the paintings seem to engage the viewer. Michelle considers eyes the focal point of any artwork and ensures they are meticulously perfected before proceeding with the rest of the piece.
Her preferred medium is soft pastels due to their immediate usability and ability to provide a gentle, precise touch that is well-suited for capturing the textures of fur and feathers.
After recently moving to rural Angus, she is delighted that her work has gained popularity and can now be found in private collections around the world.
